A mutual NDA is signed before any data is looked at, so the conversation and any sample stay confidential.
A small sample is reviewed, followed by a plain assessment of whether the data is valuable, to what kind of buyer, and why. A negative answer is shared just as plainly.
Price, scope, permitted uses and payment timing are proposed and agreed in a written contract.
Anything that could identify people or the company is removed, along with anything marked as sensitive. Where needed, this is done on-premises or in the company's own environment, so raw data doesn't leave.
The exact data to be shared is presented for review. Nothing goes out until it is approved.
Payment is made 30–60 days after the approved data is delivered, as set out in the contract.
